Phonology Build-A-Clown + Carnival Games: Fronting Boom Cards ($6 Value)

This deck addresses the phonological process of fronting through three different games: “Search and Find”, “Build a clown” and a “Memory Match” game. Open-ended play slides are provided at the end of each game. There are 8 targets (word sets) per contrastive sound pair, for a total of 48 minimal pairs. The following minimal pairs are targeted:

-k/t initial and final

-g/d initial and final

-sh/s initial and final

-Search and Find Game: This concept sorting game is intended to introduce the concepts of “front” and “back”. It is also great for introducing

practice of target sounds in isolation. Move aside the items in the carnival picture to reveal hidden pictures containing children/animals facing toward the front and back. Sort the revealed item into the appropriate box. Practice the target sounds in isolation as each image is revealed. Eight carnival scenes total are included.

-Build a Clown: Build a clown by placing the clown body parts onto the black and white outline on the center of the slide. The completed clown image is provided for reference. Decorate the clown’s shirt by moving the pictures under the “clothing decoration” grid onto the clown. Practice the revealed minimal pairs. There are 12 clowns included.

-Memory Match Game: On each slide, there are 8 minimal pairs hidden beneath cards. Remove the cards to find the matching clowns. There are two pairs of matching clowns per slide.
